Michael Evans, head coach and owner of Jersey Kickboxing, began with boxing, inspired by a friend who introduced him to mixed martial arts. He expanded into Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu with his first instructor and continued training under accomplished coaches in striking and Jiu-Jitsu. These mentors, respected champions and black belts, helped shape his expertise. Michael earned the rank of Kru in Muay Thai, holds a first-degree black belt in Kyokushin Karate, and is a level 5 instructor in Henri Hooft’s HKickboxing system. As the USKA Heavyweight Champion, He has also competed as an amateur in MMA, adding firsthand experience across multiple disciplines.

In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Michael trained with respected black belts and is currently a brown belt, affiliated with Herbert Burns and Burns BJJ. He is proficient in boxing, kickboxing, BJJ, and MMA, with success in competition. Beyond the academy, he’s a father, husband, military veteran, and entrepreneur. His coaching focuses on fundamentals, consistency, and a supportive environment for all students.
